In March, Pölkky Metsä and Ponsse organised a joint felling demonstration in Sonkajärvi, Central Finland. In addition to forest owners and contractors, the audience comprised of about 100 preschool children.
The demonstration was held at a four- hectare stand for final felling.
– Ponsse presented their newest harvesting equipment, and we demonstrated our skills. The day was a great success: the sun was shining brightly and there were over 150 visitors. In addition to forest owners and contractors, there were more than 100 pre-school children watching the demonstration. This is a clear indication on how important forestry is for this region, says Pölkky’s local Harvesting Foreman Jaakko Heikkinen.
