Press release

The strike in the mechanical forest industry came to an end, Pölkky’s plants in full production

The new collective bargaining agreement has been approved for sawmills and plywood mills after the Finnish Forest Industries Federation and the Industrial Union have approved a settlement proposal issued by national conciliator on Saturday, 22 February 2020. This agreement will improve the ability of Finnish forest industry companies to operate and thus their ability to respond to demand.

During the strike, some of Pölkky’s sawmills and refineries have been partially operational, but once the reconciliation was reached, all our plants are once again fully operational. Through systematic and effective action, we strive to correct deviations from agreed delivery schedules caused by the strike.

We apologize for any problems the strike may have caused to our customers.
