After revision and optimisation, the Board of Directors of Pölkky Oy has decided to continue the ongoing investment project of the Kajaani sawmill at full speed. The first construction measures have already begun. The main part of the construction activities and equipment installation will take place in 2024.
Pölkky will re-build all main processes at the Kajaani sawmill, including saw infeed, debarking, sawline, residual handling, dryers and dry sorting. The new green sorting is already in operation. After the investment project is completed, the capacity of the sawmill will increase from 200,000 cubic metres to 450,000 cubic metres per year.
